Description:

DAY 1. TRANSFER FROM SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS TO THE ARCH OF TIME

At 6:00 a.m., we leave San Cristobal de las Casas to begin our journey towards the General Lázaro Cárdenas community, located in the perimeter area of one of the walls in the Grand Canyon of La Venta. We will enjoy breakfast in the community before starting the walk. The principal guide will provide a safety talk on the day's activities. He will also introduce us to the staff that will be in charge.

We will begin the journey around 10:00 am, towards the Arch of Time, which consists of a 3-hour hike throughout the Ocote Biosphere Reserve (with the help of porters and mules to transport our equipment). Around 1:00 pm, we will arrive at the top of the Arch of Time and rappel down a 25-meter wall to reach the beach where we will camp, known as "Playa del Tiempo" (swimming is possible here if there is a decent level of water). (*Depending on the weather, camping might be at the top of the arch).

DAY 2. ARCH OF TIME - TRANSFER TO SAN CRISTÓBAL

We will enjoy breakfast in the morning. Around 10 am, we will ascent the same wall using harnesses, carabiners, and rope. Each individual will need to use a pulley system to ascend the wall (we will teach you how to use the system and will support you in getting up the wall if necessary). We will then begin the hike through the El Ocote Biosphere Reserve once again (a rocky/rugged and muddy path) for about 3 hours. We arrive at the car to transport us to San Cristóbal de las Casas.
