HIKING IN THE FOG FORESTS

We will tour part of the cloud forests of the high Chiapenecos that surround San Cristobal de las Casas in a safe, fun and interactive way. We have designed this route so that all ages can participate, perfect for those who want to enter the world of hiking, bird watching and contact with nature.

We will begin our tour in the Encuentro nature reserve, where we will travel uphill trails and enter a protected conservation area to have contact with local flora and fauna. The tour will continue to one of the karst formations in the area, very little visited and known, which gives the sensation of discovering for the first time this large cave full of stalactites and stalagmites. We will explain the origin and formation of this large cavern later. Take a break in the open field and taste our snacks. Upon returning to the starting point of the walk, we will take a tour inside the park to learn about its conservation projects, agroecology and restoration of its mountain wetland.
